22 Weeks!

18 more weeks to go until we find out if it's a boy or a girl! One thing we do know is that the baby is high maintenance. At my 20 week ultrasound the baby refused to move so the technician couldn't get all the images she needed to get. And then when she told Alvin and I to close our eyes because she needed to check between the baby's legs, we heard the tech laugh. The baby put its hand between its legs! Guess he/she really wants to make sure we're surprised! Then I had to go back the following week for a follow-up ultrasound and the baby was still difficult but eventually came around and they were able to get all the info they needed.

At Least He Ate Something at Thomas Sweet

We all know Aiden doesn't like ice cream or chocolate. But today we stopped by Thomas Sweet for the first time in a long time and Alvin suggested we get him a waffle cone. And he actually like it!

Hanging out with Aunt Lauren

My Baby Boy is Getting So Big

Pretty soon he's going to be 3 years old. And moving up a room in daycare to the Pre-School room. It's amazing to see what a big boy he has grown into. He's been 100% potty trained for awhile - even wears underwear to bed. He amazes us every day with how smart he is. Today we were driving down Rt. 18 and he pointed over towards St. Peter's Hospital and said "that's where I live." It took me a second to realize he meant to say "where I was born." But he remembered that was the hospital we always point out to him. He's getting really excited about the new baby and keeps telling us that he's going to give his crib and his bedroom to the new baby and he'll be moving into a big boy room for his birthday. Guess we need to start thinking about how we're going to decorate his new room!

Happy Birthday Lola!!!

Lola's birthday was Wednesday and we went out for a nice dinner.

A Weekend That Was Too Hot for Pictures

I realized I didn't take any pictures this past weekend. Oh wait, I did take one Friday night of Alvin and Aiden having their slumber party in the basement. It was too hot to sleep on the 2nd floor so the boys had a slumber party in the basement and Aiden was so excited. He upgraded Daddy to "best friend" status as a result. While I was tucking them in, Aiden said "Mommy please turn off the lights because Daddy and I are having a slumber party and you have to sleep upstairs on the couch." When I got upstairs I heard Aiden singing lullabies to Alvin and a few minutes later heard Alvin snoring!

Saturday was the hottest day of the year so we stayed inside. Aunt Jenn came to visit and sleep over which was a lot of fun. She taught Aiden how to play his Cars Memory game the correct way and he was impressing all of us with his memory skills. On Sunday we headed to the pool and Aunt V came along too. Aiden went down the frog slide in the kids pool for the first time.

Today I took Aiden to school and got to hang out in the breakfast room for a bit. It's always so much fun to listen in on the conversations between the kids. His teacher told me when they were learning about different bodies of water yesterday Aiden was asking a lot of questions like "Do crabs live in the river or the ocean? Where do seashells live?" And of course is very serious when he asks questions and you can tell he's thinking very hard about the answers.

Going Down the Slide by Himself

Surfing at the Waterpark

My Little Line Dancer

We were buying ice cream and Aiden was asking for yellow ice cream. Well anyone who knows him knows he doesn't like ice cream. But then he saw someone get something with rainbow sprinkles and wanted it. So I got him a small vanilla cup with sprinkles and guess what - he said he didn't like it! He wanted yellow ice cream. Then he decided he had to get out of his stroller "because I want to go dance!" So we took him over by the DJ at Fantasy Island. At first he just stood there and observed all the kids dancing. Then he got into it! We were there for over an hour while he participated in a bunch of line dances. During one when it was his turn to go in the middle and dance he boogied down to a ton of applause. I wish I had captured that moment on video!

1st Time on the Swings

Aiden was really excited and wanted to go on the swing ride for the first time. He loved it!

Fantasy Island Fun

Papa Comes to the Beach!

You'd never know Nanny and Papa lived at the beach year-round. In fact Saturday was the first time Papa was at the beach this year! But Aiden was excited that he made it down to build sandcastles with him. It was a gorgeous beach day - the water was crystal blue!

Gotta Love This Kid

Aiden has renamed us. Instead of Mommy and Daddy, he has told us that we are now Mama and Dada and that is what he's been calling us the last few days.

He also said that the baby is a girl... or it could be a dragon! Let's hope we don't see a fire-breathing creature at our next ultrasound on Tuesday!

LOVING the kiddie water slides

Waterpark Fun

I've always wanted to try out the waterpark at LBI and I'm so glad we went. We had a blast with Nanny, Victoria and Rob. One of Aiden's favorite things was watching the three of them go down the big water slides. He wasn't a fan of the lazy river though. But when we finally convinced him to go down the kiddie slides with Aunt V and Rob, he didn't want to stop!

Baking with Nanny

Aiden and Nanny baked some chocolate covered pretzels together Friday night during our sleepover.

Beach Football

Mini Golfing with His Own Putter

We were hoping to play mini golf while Alvin was still around but it rained when we were planning on going. But luckily Laura and I were able to bring Aiden to play the next morning and he had so much fun. People commented that it was cool that he had his own putter.

Hanging at "our new house" with Aunt Laura and Uncle Glenn

Aiden loved staying with Glenn and Laura this week and kept referring to their beach house as his "new house."

Aaahhh VACATION!!!

Once a year I get to spend 9 straight days with Aiden and there's nothing I love more! Every July 4th week we take vacation and this year Alvin had to work a few days so Aiden and I spent even more quality time together. We were down in LBI for 5 days having so much fun. How am I going to be able to go back to work on Monday? If only I could be a teacher and have the summers off...

Happy 4th of July!!!

We had a really nice holiday! I didn't know how Aiden would react to the fireworks considering I was always scared of them growing up. But he loved them. He even wanted his microphone so he could provide his own commentary "Look at the red one! Look at the Mickey Mouse one! Everyone thank you for your patience. Wow, look at all the colors!"

More Tree House Fun

Someone Thought He Was Ready for the Pool

Relaxing Morning

Aiden helped me make pancakes for breakfast this morning and they were delicious. Then he proceeded to take everything out of the pool bag and put it on Daddy - including 3 hats, swimmies and his green Crocs.

100 Ounces of Beer

Good thing I was the designated driver when we went to Brickhouse on Sunday!
